Monday Maintenance Tip: Check Your Battery Terminals

Hey fans, here's a Monday Maintenance tip: Most modern cars run on a 12 volt negative ground electrical system. If your battery terminals or contacts aren't clean, you're making it more difficult for the current to pass around the electrical system. Remove the terminal caps and clean each contact post with a wire brush to get a nice clean metal contact surface. Do the same to the terminal caps, then reattach them.

2013 Nissan LEAF to get 155 miles on single charge

Word out of Japan has it that the 2013 Nissn LEAF will got upgraded range and a second, entry-level model.

Reports suggest that the 2013 Nissan LEAF, that will hit dealerships at the end of this year, will have a range of 155 miles. The extra range will be achieved by “improving the efficiency of motors and aims to improve the performance of lithium-ion batteries installed,” the report said.

Nissan is also considering a cheaper version of the Nissan LEAF. In the North American market, the price reduction could bring the base price of the LEAF to $26,600.
